Youngster Lim Zhuo Ren of Selangor is the new Malaysian chess champion for 2011 edition.He had a brilliant run of seven straight wins before drawing his last two round against promising junior Yeoh Li Tian and Internasional Master (IM) Jimmy Liew
.Second place is another up and coming junior player Sumant Subramaniam.He had 7.5 points with a loses to another junior player Yeap Eng Chiam.Third place goes to IM Jimmy Liew former winner of this championship.Our very own Nor Ilahmuddin Shaikh Ali had modest score of 5.5 points with two loses.
Interestingly 8 from 10 winners in this champoinship are still in schooling age they are the one who will dominates their age group at MSSM meet next June.By contrast most of our juniors player who will be playing in the MSSM championship reluctant to improve themselve though they have the opportunity to play in chess tournament organise by Terengganu Chess Association.
In the women section sisters Nur Nabila and Nur Najiha Azman Hisham finished one two and third place was won by 2010 winner Fong Mi Yen.Congratulation to our new National Master Lim Zhou Ren and National womenmaster Nur Nabila Azman Hisham.
