VIDEO PENCARIAN JAGUH CATUR

In Terengganu it is rare to see a woman chess player competing in open chess tournament section.But for this charming Universiti Putra Malaysia student shows she has got the high spirit as well as nerve to take part in Pencarian Jaguh Catur Terengganu recently.Her determination proof to much as she able to beat several men in the tournament.Firstly she took part at Kuala Terengganu leg ended up beating several men.Well I thought she just past time player or just wants to spend holiday in her hometown.Then she show up at Ulu Terengganu leg and finished with some cash prize and beating several men.She quite good in opening theory but her middle game didnt up to it.Maybe lack of training and understanding of position causing her losing some of the winning game.She and a few others women players are invited to play in the Pencarian Jaguh Catur Terengganu Peringkat Negeri. I will suggest to Pusat Minda Terengganu to include women section in next year.

MSSM TERENGGANU DISTRICTS TOURNAMENT

The MSSM Terengganu inter districts will be held on 8-10th May 2008 at SMK Kompleks Mengabang Telipot Kuala Terengganu ,players totalling 192 from 8 districts will be taking part to select 36 players to represent Terengganu in MSSM Malaysia in Melaka end of May.In the same event last year only a handful of players were able to finish among top ten in under 18 girl , under 18 boy , under 15 boy , under 12 boys and girls.The prospect of winning one title for this year maybe slim but the chances are there.Dates and places for district level event to be held.

• Kemaman at SMK Teknik on 29th to 30th April 2008
• Marang at SMK Pengkalan Berangan on 27th to 29th April 2008
• Besut at SMK Renek on 24th to 26th April 2008
• Setiu at PPD Setiu on 24th to 26 th April 2008
• Kuala Terengganu Selatan on 21st to 22nd April at SMK Sheikh Abdul Malek
• Kuala Terengganu Utara on SMK Bukit Guntung on 21 st to 23rd April 2008

TERENGGANU PLAYERS AT CAS SECOND QUATER ALLEGRO

Last Sunday (6th April ) two Terengganu players took part in Chess Association Of Selangor second quarter allegro at Wilayah Kompleks Kuala Lumpur.KL base player Nur Ilhamuddin Shaik Ali secured 9th place in the main category in the event which was won by season player Kamaluddin Yusuf.Ilhamuddin who is active in the Klang valley tournament he recently finished 1st in a tournament at Parit Buntar Perak his wife hometown.The other Terengganu player who played in the was Mohd Haniff who finished 9th place.He is the former IMTIAZ Kuala Terengganu top student who achieved 16 As in his SPM result announced recently.Congratulation to both of them for their achievement.
