TERENGGANU GIRL STAND A CHANCE TO WIN GOLD

Terengganu under 18 girl Siti Nor Raihan Mohd Shaifuddin have a realistic chances to win gold in under 18 individual.She is currently second place with 5 points and will be playing tomorrow with Perak girl Nur Munirah Mat also 5 points.The winner of the game tomorrow will finish first place.If she drew her game tomorrow then she will get second place.In under 15 girl Terengganu Wan Noor Fatin Wan Mohd Zani also have a realistic chances to finish in the top 3 placing.The boy under 18 team have a slim chances to finish 3 place if they able to beat Kelantan and hoping the other team drew with their opponents.

MSSM UPDATE

Today is the third day of Kejohanan Catur MSSM 2009.The Terengganu under 18 boys team beat Selangor 2.5 to 1.5 in the first round.After four round of play Terengganu under 18 boys are currently with 10 game points and 6 match points.As expected Kuala Lumpur easily on top of the table with 12 game points.The Terengganu under 18 boys have realistic chances to finish with silver medal in this categorie.For full table for under 18 click here

The first round of kejohanan catur MSSM started today at Hotel Gold course in Klang.More then 500 players from 16 states are currently playing in the six categories.

ABDULLAH CHE HASSAN WINS UITM OPEN

Abdullah Che Hasan wins the UITM which ended today at Shah Alam campus.He scored five straight and drew with Tun Seri Lanang in the last round to finish with 6.5 points.Tun Seri Lanang created an upset when he beat Ian Udani in the 6th round to finished 3rd place with 6 points.MSS Selangor player Mohd Nabil Azman Hisham finished second place also with 6 points.Ian Udani champion of many speed event have to settle with 5 points.Below are the top ten winner of the event.

SELANGOR READY FOR MSSM

Majlis Sukan Sekolah Sekolah Selangor will hosting the Kejohanan Catur Majlis Sukan Sekolah Selangor.Almost 500 students from all over the country will taking part in this yearly event and probaly the biggest chess gathering for juniors players.This event will officially started on 16th to 20th March at Hotel Goldcourse in Klang Selangor.This event will be divided into 6 categories under 12 individual and team, under 15 individual and team and under 18 individual and team.Kuala Lumpur is the defending champion when this event played in Melaka.

Terengganu players Abdul Kadir Jailani Ramli and Mohd Syazwan Zulkifli finished second and third in the pretigious under 18 categories which is consider a remarkable achievment for the Terengganu in the last 25 years.

First round will starts on 16th March at 2.30 pm and will finished at 5.30 pm.Second round start at 8.30 am the following day.Final round will start on8.30 am on 20th March.Here are sneak peak of the playing venue.
