MAKSAK FULL RESULT

As expected Terengganu simply too strong for other team to handle,Terengganu accumulated 21 points from preliminary round and winner pool round.Kuala Lumpur who finished second could only massed up 15.5 round followed by Pahang who gained 15 points and former national champion Dr Ng Eee Vern playing for them.Determine Selangor players finished 4th place with 14.5 points.Chess event was introduce as one of the event in MAKSAK calendar in middle of nineties.Terengganu chess team started to take part in this event in 1997 when it became champion when the tournament was held in Kedah.Although some players complain about the playing schedule and format but mostly they are happy for the long round.Only Kedah and Melaka did not part.Next year Kelantan will host the event and Terengganu surely will defence the title quite easily.Congratulation Terengganu.

MAKSAK MALAYSIA : TERENGGANU TOO POWERFULL

Maksak Malaysia interstate chess championship just ended today at Dewan Seri Pinang.The participants of this event is only open to those working in the public services.15 teams took part in this annual event.Defending champion Terengganu well ahead of other team with 22 points ,followed by Kuala Lumpur Pahang and Selangor.More report later.

TERENGGANU EXPECTED TO RETAIN TITLE

Terengganu contigent to Maksak Malaysia chess tournament safely arrived at official hotel around 8.00 am today.The team consisting Abdul Rahim Ramli,Norazmi Mohd Nor ,Hisamullah Harun,Hashim Jusoh and Mohd Yusof Muda.Terengganu is expected to retain the title in this team event playing format.Terengganu is in the group A with Perak ,ATM,Selangor and PDRM.Terengganu will plays Perak at 4.00 pm today and expected to have an easy win follow by match with ATM another weak team in this group.In fourth round Terengganu will play experienced Selangor team who is expected to field up Mohd Hafez Hilmi (Terengganu born players ,my former PADAWAN).To wrap up the group match ,Terengganu will facing PDRM who have Ismail Ahmad in the first board).The the top winner in each group will play with each others to decided the tournament winner.In group B Kuala Lumpur is a clear favourite followed by Perlis and Kelantan.In group C Sarawak almost certain to finished first.Pahang is likely to finish second who have Dr Ng Ee Vern playing in the first board.This event is promise to have an exciting finishing.Last year Terengganu had unbeatable lead in the winners pool and secured 1st place with a round to spare.
