This year winner of Malay open was won by Abdullah Che Hassan of Johor after scoring 6.5 points.Abdullah Che Hassan who played briliantly as decribed by Nur Ilhamuddin Sheikh Ali.Meanwhile Terengganu school boy Mohd Syazwan Zukifli suprise everybody by beating former national player NM Mohd Kamal Abdullah in the last round to finish 7th place.This is a good achievment by the new generation Terengganu junior players.The other Terengganu players who also playing in the tournament but finished with 5 points is Nur Ilhamuddin Sheikh Ali losing 2 games to NM Zarul and Elias who is making comeback to chess competition.
