 Here are the final standing of Terengganu Sport School Chess Championship which ended today at Sekolah Menengah Cukai Kemaman.It was trouble some for me to get the crosstable from the incompetence Kemaman PT and further more using a third party to borrow the digital clock from me.He dont even care to spare me a complete results.Very pathetic.Summary of the event and picture later.

Berikut ialah keputusan kejohanan catur MSST peringkat daerah Dungun yang baru selesai diadakan semalam.Tidak ada banyak keputusan yang mengejutkan berlaku dalam semua kategori.Seperti dijangka Aisyah Sabirin dan Siti Khadijah Sabirin menjuarai kategori bawah 15 dan 12 tahun perempuan.Berikut ialah ialah keputusan penuh kejohanan yang dihantar oleh Sabirin Sulaiman.Kejohanan telah berjalan dengan lancar.

 

MISSES BY A WHISKER



This morning i played another edition of playchess.com online chess  tournament.I played only 8 round of games because i was not able to get up on time and the tournament already started.The tournament director had no problem accepting my entry. Managed to win five games but not lucky today to win 30 days membership extension due to my " weak tie break ".Overall i finished 63rd place and misses 62nd spot which offer 30 days membership extension.

WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU BUY ORI SOFTWARE?

What will you get when you buy original software ? Pirate copy also perform the same as per original ? anyway i leave to you to find the answer.My first original copy of  chess software was Fritz 11.During the period i did not fully utilised the available premium membership for the ori buyers.I did not realise until it was too late that i had a chance to extend playchess membership by playing online tournament.Premium member will be able to access anykind of broadcast, simul with title players except for private lesson.

This is what you get when you buy the original sofware.

1.Original fritz 12 is 50.00 euro (including 1 year premium membership)

2.Basic serial number 30.00 euro (some room of broadcast you can't enter)

3.Constant update of your software.

4.Chat and send email to other member or guest.

Of course the choice is yours but if you are thinking to be a paid member at playchess buy the ori dvd.

Secondly my other licensed software is the swiss manager pairing program.I think that was my meaningfull decision in term of software aplication ever made by me.As as licensed user i can upload all the results almost instantly to chess-results.com.I am among the first malaysian to upload results there.Back then they are some people who think that uploading the result is not wise or rather not a Fide rated events.To me a lot of people out there who are very eager to know the current standing or who is playing who and etc.You need to made the infomation available to the public via internet.

YOU CANNOT BE LUCKY ALL THE TIME

Some of my friends asked me why i always lucky for winning membership extension at playchess.com.Honestly they are no secret about it.Beside a good mouse skill treat online chess tournament as normal tournament and act like one too.

This morning  i took part in another event at playchess.com.As usual top five winners will win 150 day to 30 days membership extension.As for the lucky win prizes are for those who stand at no 14,24,34,44,54,64,74,114,and 124.If you take a peek at the table above you can see that i finished the 9 round of 3 minutes blitz with 4 points only.I nearly win another 30 days membership but just because of my slightly lower tie break.Since last year I already win a total of 10 months  of  membership days.

This morning I win another one month of membership extension at Playchess.com.I scored 6 points from nine games.I was able to beat three higher rated opponents that contributed to my overall standing.At playchess.com first place winner gain 150 days membership extension,the other lucky winner are players  who finished at no 32, 42,52,62,72,82,102 and 122.I was thinking why dont I organise same kind of tournament locally.On the other hand join my cause at playchess.com Ilham.

TERENGGANU CHESS ASSOCIATION: SATU PERMULAAN BARU

Persatuan Catur Negeri Terengganu (PCNT)kini dikenali dengan nama baru iaitu Terengganu Chess Association (TCA) berikutan pembatalan PCNT.Pesuruhjaya Sukan telah menerima permohonan pendaftaran baru bagi TCA serta telah didaftarkan pada bulan Disember tahun 2010.

Berikutan dengan itu satu mesyuarat agung bagi memilih ahli jawatankuasa diadakan pada 7hb hingga 8hb Mei 2011 bertempat di Mayang Sari Resort Dungun.Tarikh tersebut dipilih kerana kejohanan catur terbuka Terengganu akan diadakan pada tarikh dan tempat sebagaimana tersebut.

Sementara itu pada 26hb Februari ini jam 8.00 pagi bertempat di Sekolah Menengah Tengku Intan Zaharah akan diadakan kempen pendaftaran ahli serta pertandingan catur untuk ahli ahli.

30 EXTRA DAYS MORE AT PLAYCHESS.COM

Lucky again today at playchess.com 3 minutes chess tournament.I finished the nine round tournament with only 4 points and was on 64th. For that placing I win 30 days membership extension.I dropped my rating to 1732 for losing to lower rated players.

I just received a picture from DGT, a world leader in digital chess clock production it's just released a new product It is call DGT PYRAMID.From the picture email to me the gadget is pyramid shape and it's has  four coloured surface each with own timer.Before starting the game each players needed to choose one of the coloured surface,then in order to activate the timer you need to twist the surface up so that your time will start .

The DGT pyramid has  all the function like a normal chess clock and suitable for use for four person.DGT pyramid will be available in the market in July for about €30.00.Last summer DGT also released DGT CUBE.

TAKWIN PERTANDINGAN MSST CATUR DI KUALA TERENGGANU SELATAN

Berikut ialah jadual pertandingan catur serta permainan lain bagi daerah Kuala Terengganu Selatan.Mengikut tarikh yang tertera kejohanan catur peringkat Kuala Terengganu Selatan akan diadakan pada 6 hingga 10 hb Februari 2011 bertempat di Sekolah Padang Negara sementara kejohanan peringkat negeri akan diadakan di Kemaman pada 24hb hingga 26hb Februari 2011.Daerah lain juga dijangka menlaksanakan proses pemilihan pada waktu yang sama.

Just came back from the Malay Championship and the 1 Malaysia Open Chess at Kuala Lumpur.I did not do well in both of the events.But my teamates Suhaidi Mustaffa and Abdul Rahim Ramli finished 3rd and 6th place in the 1 Malaysia respectively.Here are list Terengganu players who took part in 1 Malaysia Open.Norazmi and the whole family also played excluding Musa Norazmi who just took part  in the Malay championship.Mohd Syazwan finished 8th place in the Malay championship.

I hate to post it here but just to encourage my good friend Ilham to sign up at playchess.com,I have to post it . I know you get bored reading the same thing over and over again.Last night the event was smooth as usual everything was perfect and over 150 players took part.Luck was on my side as always, I scored 5 points losing 4 games to  weak opponents.Losing my rating but I gained precious 30 days membership extension.Good bargain.

TOURNAMENT CANCELLED

Last night chessbase had to cancelled it's Monday night tournament because of corrupt tournament file.The saga started when the tournament director had to leave the tournament room for unknown reason and was replace.After waiting for about five minutes the new director made announcement to the registered players that tournament had to be cancelled because of technical delay.I don't know wheather this happened before here at playchess.com.

SARAWAK OPEN AND GACC TOURNAMENT

Beside the 3rd National Junior Chess Championship in Kuala Lumpur they are two other FIDE rated event currently being held, at the University Malaya The Grand Asian Chess Championship (GACC)  and the Sarawak open.Information about these events are available at chess-results.com.Terengganu players who are playing at the GACC tournament are Mohd Shazwan Zulkifli,Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Abdul Rahman and Wan Aizuddin Wan Razali.Wish all of them good luck.There are no known Terengganu players playing in Sarawak

NATIONAL JUNIOR CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

The 3rd National Junior Chess Championship is in progress at Hotel Olympia in Kuala Lumpur.The annual event start on 15th Disember and will end on 19th Disember 2010.There are 69 players in the boys category First seeded in this section is Yeoh Lee Tian who has FIDE rating of 2122 and there only 32 girls taking part in this section.Women Fide Master (WFM) Alia Azwa Anin Bakri is seeded first with rating of 1953.

I think it's was one of my  worth of  investment last year when I decided to buy Fritz 12.Though it was about €50 I gained premium membership at playchess.com which I made full used.I gained full access to live broadcast ,playing in the blitz tournament and also playing simul with IMs or GMs

.My lucky (tikam toto) wins on many occasion here made me very satisfied with the decision to buy the original sofware.For instance you can follow live game of London Chess Classic here and here but it's was not the same because it's dull and you cannot add engine to analyse the ongoing game.God willing one fine day I  will organised one FIDE rated event and broadcast live at playchess.com.Buy the original if you an addicted to chess.Buy it from me.

LONDON CHESS CLASSIC:ANAND CELEBRATED HIS BIRTHDAY WITH CRUSHING STYLE

At second London Chess Classic the biggest chess event held by the English in recent years saw Anand celebrated his 41st birthday by beating Nigel Short 45 years old former chess child prodigy in crushing style.Short start his game with e4 pawn and Anand respond with c5 and the game turn into Sicilian Closed Opening.

On move 11th Short played Qh4 to initiate typical Kingside attack as per theory suggest,Anand respond with Ne8 in order  to exchange the attacking Queen.Short declined and played Qh3.Anand seized the initiative when he played Nd4 with threatening Nc2 fork.Anand has the cruise control for the entire game and he checkmated his frustrated opponent on 43rd move.

Niger Short who spend long hours at playchess.com server used to play similar kind of position in his 3 minutes games and of course it's different scenario.Calsen also won his game against Hikaru Nakamara .Both players played the standard opening  theory and a lot of tactic during the middle game 

On move 24 Hikaru forced Calsen to exchange Bishop for a Knight , the turning point of this  exciting game.Hikaru plan was to have double bishop on open board.Calsen turned the table around when he managed to exchange Black's Bishop.Hikaru tried to gain the initiatived but Calsen already prepared and later  have big advantages.

PENANG OPEN ENTER LASTS DAY TODAY

Penang Open final round will start today at 9.00 am.Philippine International master ( IM )Oliver Dimankilling almost certain to win the championship as he needs only draw from his compatriot to secure the title.He has now accumulated 7 points from 8 game.

It's was a smooth passage to him as he beat Grandmaster (GM) Niaz Murshed from Bangladesh at round four and our very own IM Mas Hafizul Helmi at round five.Trailing at the second place is Plilippine Oliver Barbosa who 6.5 points, Barbosa will play with Kuala Lumpur base Ian Udani in the last round.

IM Mas who has 5.5 points will play with Reggie Olay Edgar to determine his place among top ten winner.Second best Malaysian is 2010 Malaysian Champion Tan Khai Boon who has 5.5 points.

In the challenger section who has 109 players including Dungun's sisters Siti Aisyah and Siti Khadijah Sabirin.Leading is Tin Jun Hao and Muhd Zikri Mat Zaki both has identical score of 7 points.Thirteen years old Siti Aisyah so far scored respectable five points and her younger sister has Siti Khadijah has 4 points.
