2nd WORLD WOMEN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP







Second world women team chess championship ended today at Ningbo China. Ten team took part in this event organized by China Chess Association.Only France ,Germany and Hungary didn’t took part ,these country are among top ten in the world base on their players rating.However China field up their second team ,Vietnam who are ranked 22nd and Armenia world ranking 18th to make up the number.

China field up their starplayer Hou Yi Fang (FIDE 2585) the highest rated player in this tournament.She played 7 games and scored 4 points losing one game to Irina Krush (FIDE 2458) of USA in an exciting Nimzo Indian Classical Variation which is contributed China 1-3 loses to USA.

The loses didn’t stop China to emerged as a champion with 12 match points and 21.5 games points which is just 0.5 ahead from second place team Russia. China second team player Tang Zhongyi won best board prize for board one who scored 5.5 points from eight games.
